Little overhaul

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

We, that is Paul and me (so glad Paul is in Holland at the moment), are very busy these days with the Watermeid. She leaked when it was raining wich was a bore.

We found the cause and one thing leads to another. We are working almost every day this last month and the result is a dry boat wich looks very nice a gain.

Energy

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

The energy market in Holland is commercial since a couple of years. Which means you can choose the comapany you want to deliver you gas and energy. While there is no difference of quality the price and service determine your choise. Could have done it years ago but anyway did it now. Yields me hundreds of euros per year if everything goes well. And is seems to be easier than changing you mobile provider.

Main Energy it is for me for the next year. Did choose that via one of those compare sites that does the maths for you. Will see if everything goes well.

The funny thing of gaslicht.com is that it is of that Dutch guy, Ben Woldring, who became millionaire when he was 12 or so with a compare site of internet providers. Later on he started mobile comparison and so on.

Ecolution

Went to Groningen the other day for a visit at the Ecolution.

We were surprised at the progress since last visit. It will be a spectacular ship when finished.

Still a believer?

The Roman Catholic Church excommunicated the doctors and mother of a 9 years old Brazilian girl. She had an abortion after her stepfather raped her.

The stepfather is still a member of that church. Obviously rape is not a bad sin as abortion is….

A few days ago my sliding doors upstairs were finally changed.

There was a sort of spiderweb in de dubble glass doors which made it almost break down. Happened last year. And that for the simple reason that my cusions, black, where against the glass. The warmth could not go enywhere so the glass became to hot. Would have never occurred to me that that could be the couse.

Grote Meid

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Very buisy these days with making an website for the classic schooner the “Grote Meid“. Nice job which keeps me off the street as we say in Holland.

And my own boat is also time consuming. With Paul being in Holland as well, we did some maintenance. Found someone who could do some professional welding. Not that easy because the steel is very old and thin. But he did a good job and when painted (when it is not raining anymore), you would not even know there had been a hole. We did some rust removal and I needed a new battery to start up the motor. I nice job al together.
